Despite the name "Paris Beauvais", Beauvais-Tillé Airport is located 80 km north of central Paris — not in Paris, not even in the Île-de-France region. It's primarily used by Ryanair and other budget carriers. Flights are cheap; the journey into Paris requires a bit of planning.
Getting from Beauvais to Paris
1. The official shuttle bus
A direct coach (operated in partnership with Ryanair and Flixbus) runs to Paris — either Porte Maillot or Gare du Nord depending on the timetable. Duration: 1h15–1h30 without traffic. Cost: around €17/person booked in advance. Caution: the shuttle departs shortly after the flight and does not wait for delayed flights. If your Ryanair flight arrives late, you may miss your booked bus.
2. Taxi
Taxis to Paris from Beauvais are unregulated (no fixed fare) — expect €120–€160 depending on traffic and the driver. Availability at night or at off-peak times is unreliable.
3. Private chauffeur VTC
A pre-booked VTC offers a fixed price, flight tracking (the driver waits if your flight is late), and a name board in the arrivals hall. For a group splitting the cost, it often works out similar to or better than the shuttle.
| Option | Duration | Price (approx.) | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Official shuttle | 1h15–1h30 | €17/person | Budget solo travel |
| Taxi | 1h–1h30 | €120–160 | No booking required |
| Paris Prestige Drive | 1h–1h20 | From €165 | Fixed price, flight tracking, groups |
Budget airlines have statistically higher delay rates. If your flight arrives 45 minutes late, your pre-booked shuttle will be gone. A private driver monitors the actual landing time and adapts accordingly — you won't lose your transfer or your money.
